AdHouse's Holiday Sale

The holiday season is upon us and that means it is a time for buying. Most of the buying is of course supposed to be for giving to others, but with all of the shopping and all of the sales, shoppers often tend to find a few things for themselves along the way as well. But speaking of shopping (for yourself or others) starting tomorrow, our friends at AdHouse are having an awesome holiday sale!

From November 11th until December 21st, AdHouse has some great items at special super low prices to go along with all of the other great books and comics you can find in their online store at their regular low prices. What kind of awesome read materials are on sale might you ask? How about both single issues and the collected edition of Johnny Hiro? You can also pick-up Zig-Zag #1 by J Chris Campbell or selected issues of Skyscrapers of the Midwest by Josh Cotter each for only a dollar! And that really is just a few of the sweet deals they are offering so checkout their site for more great buys during this special holiday sale. You or someone on your Christmas list will be glad that you did.

Curls Studio's Heroes Con Video

Here is an excellent video from our friends at Curls Studio showcasing not only Joe’s mad video skills but also some of the people they met and fun they had at the 2008 Heroes Con in Charlotte.

It was great meeting and hanging out with Joe and Carolyn at last year’s Heroes Con and I hope we’ll see them again in 2009.

Iron Gelatomettista - Frankenstein!

I’ve completely ripped this desciption from Ben’s blog:

Its “like Iron Chef but with less food, less English subtitles and less blatantly sexual shots of women’s lips eating fishy things rather slowly. It’s with drawing instead.”

“…we get one hour to do our best before you guys judge the results.

Voting ends at Monday, 5:00pm PST, so get over there!  I’m not forcing any one to vote, but it looks like fun. You know who I voted for, but I did give it legitamate thought first.

NPR's Best Graphic Novels of 2008

NPR release its list, Best Graphic Novels of 2008 and I must say I agree for the most part.  My list may be a little bigger and I have yet to read a couple of them.  The only real issue I have with the list is Local and Skyscrapers of the Midwest are collections of individually release comics.  I supposed since they both have a defined beginning and end they are simply graphic novels that were released in parts.  Some day I’ll really figure that difference out.  Until then I totally recommend going over this list and picking up these books.

I first read about this on Twitter from Brian Wood.
