NPR's Best Graphic Novels of 2008

NPR release its list, Best Graphic Novels of 2008 and I must say I agree for the most part.  My list may be a little bigger and I have yet to read a couple of them.  The only real issue I have with the list is Local and Skyscrapers of the Midwest are collections of individually release comics.  I supposed since they both have a defined beginning and end they are simply graphic novels that were released in parts.  Some day I’ll really figure that difference out.  Until then I totally recommend going over this list and picking up these books.

I first read about this on Twitter from Brian Wood.

The problem I have with this list is that LOCAL was kinda shitty.

NO, Rob Ullman! I never thought I'd say that... :(

That book is great. Now, I don't know if I can give you the coffee mug I bought you in Maine. :(

Ya know, Skyscrapers of the Midwest just really didn't do it for me. I figure it's because the whole thing came off as being really pretentious. I've only read the first 20 pages of LOCAL and it seemed pretty good. That hardcover is ridiculously cheap.
