Free Comic Book Day 2009 line-up at Heroes

Frequent followers of the Dollar Bin know of our love for the best damned comic book convention in the world Heroes Con. What you should also know is that we’ve got almost the same amount of love for the store that hosts it Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find. With all of that love in mind (and more that shall remain unspoken) we will be making our 2nd straight trip up to Heroes for their big Free Comic Book Day event.

Did I say the event was big? I meant HUGE. And I didn’t just type it in those capital letters because my keyboard was stuck, it really is that large.

Doubt me if you dare but take a look at this awesome guest list: Mark Brooks, Chris Brunner, Ian Flynn, Sanford Greene, Cully Hamner, Matt Herms, Adam Hughes, Jason Latour, Laura Martin, Budd Root, Chris Schweizer, Andy Smith, Allison Sohn, Brian Stelfreeze, Karl Story and who knows maybe even more!?!

As impressive as that list is, Heroes will also be giving away a ton of free comics and will no doubt also have a ton of great comics for sale as well. If you are in the Charlotte area you have got to make this great event!

Free Comic Book Day 2009 at Richard's

The Dollar Bin staff has a warm spot in their cold hearts for Free Comic Book Day at Richard’s Comics and Collectables. Not only because Richard and his staff are such good supporters of our site but also because FCBD 2007 at Richard’s was our first attempt at covering an event. And even though Richard banished us to the basement that lovely spring day, we still look back on it very fondly.

So what began in 2007 for us continues to 2009 (and we hope beyond) as we will begin our coverage of Free Comic Book Day this year at Richard’s as well. And as usual, he and his staff have a great day planned for the fine people of Greenville, SC.

Great creators (and friends of the Dollar BinJ Chris Campbell and Bradd Parton will be joined by talented artists Tracy Yardley and Gina Biggs.

The Star Wars 501st will be onhand and in full costume and JD the balloon man will be at the ready to create awesome treats for the kids. With all of that plus free comics, give aways and much more it is sure to be a great day. So if you are in the area follow our lead and spend part of your day with us and the rest of the guests at Richard’s Comic and Collectables.
