Image announces McFarlane and Kirkman project
Way back in 2006 at the San Diego Comic Con, writer Robert Kirkman interrupted a panel to lay out a challenge to Image founder (and one of his bosses) Todd McFarlane. Some 3 years later, and with Kirkman being an even bigger force at both Image and the comic industry, fans will see a result of that first well publicized confrontation.
Image Comics has announced the project “Haunt” teaming McFarlane and Kirkman, as well as Invincible artist Ryan Ottley and longtime Spawn artist Greg Capullo, should finally be hitting comic shops this June. Haunt begins as the story of a CIA agent who is killed and begins haunting his brother who just happens to be a Catholic priest. Besides not getting along when they were living, the haunting has its own effects and leads to them joining forces figuratively as well as literally to become a superhero team.
This new series from Image is set to be co-created and co-written by McFarlane and Kirkman with Capullo providing layouts and Ottley handling the penciling chores. The series that is being described as a mix of superhero, horror and espionage action, is also set to be inked by McFarlane who will also provide some of the covers. Below is one of the first teaser images released for the book hitting shelves in June.

I was prepared to crap all over this when i saw the first image. McFarlane's art hasn't changed in years (and that's not a good thing). Then i saw that Ryan Ottley is the series artist. God dammit, Kirkman, you've suckered me again.
As long as Turd McFarthead isn't doing the art I'm in.
I hate that man's art with a passion hotter than a thousand suns.
McFarlane's gonna be digitally inking Ottley on this book. I think i can live with that as long as he doesn't butcher it.
