I hope that hearing my own name come up during this show is an indication that you guys know how much I appreciate your work to read and review small press/artist created mini comics. I can't think of any other place I could go and hear so many reviews of the quality work being done in the field of indie comics. From this day forward I will never wear a hat because I'll have it constantly off to you. Thank you for this great show!

So, on Krazy Kat. Ignatz is the mouse the award is named after and is the object of affection of Krazy Kat him/herself. Ignatz delights in beaming Krazy with the brick and Krazy infers this action to be one of affection. Meanwhile, Officer Pup has the hots for Krazy and is always trying to toss Ignatz in jail to prevent harm from coming to his crush. It's the original strange love triangle. Really an incredible strip, even after 70 years. George Herriman was a fascinating guy too. Read up on him, it's wild stuff. But yeah, the mouse throws the brick.

For the rest, you guys talked about some of my favorite people. Joe Lambert is one of the most incredible cartoonist I've ever seen. Plus the nicest, nicest guy ever. Are we calling Chuck McBuck Charles Forsman all the time now? Anyhow, his Snake Oil comics are great. He and Melissa Mendes are a couple too and making great stuff together and apart. It's worth it to keep up with Sean Ford and Only Skin. I really love that series. And you guys didn't know Gabby Schulz was Ken Dahl? Pretty sure I mentioned him after last year's Heroes Con. Anyway, go to Gabby's Playhouse (his website) and read his Sick strips if you haven't already. Pretty great.

I hate that I missed this SPX, everyone said it was awesome. But, again, thank you for doing such a great job covering the scene. I've never read a GB Tran book but that's gonna change. Also thanks for the nerdcore stuff. I really will sing parts of that Donkey Kong Country song for the rest of the day.

1) Good to see you guys at the show and hang out a bit.
2) Hi.
3) Thanks for the positive thoughts on #RockingSoHard. Glad you liked it. James Kochalka was at my table and looked through it and he was like "all the comics are in a different style?". And I was all, "well I kind of see each comic in my mind in its own style and then I try to draw it that way". He then looked at me as if he thought that was the dumbest idea ever.
4) Hi Henry.
5) That Gabby Schulz "Sick" webcomic is mind blowing but also disturbing. He's hard core. He's moving up my favorite cartoonist list very quickly. His recent run on What Things Do was also super great.
6) That Hockey tales book was one of the more enjoyable things I've read in recent memory. I wish it was 100 pages longer.
