Interview: Astro City - Brent Anderson

About a decade ago (maybe it was less than that) the Dollar Bin’s Joel, Tee, and Adam spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson to discuss their (along with Alex Ross) masterpiece in motion, Astro City.  We offer to you here the second part featuring artist Brent Anderson.

Runtime 1 hour 12 minutes 58 seconds

Great interviews guys, both this one and the one with Kurt Busiek. Very informative and professional. I haven't read any Astro City but it's been on my radar screen for a while. I need to correct that oversight in 2012 and at least give it a chance.

Shame on you Kilmarock. We can't be friends anymore until you've read at least one trade. And I am really surprised people, we posted both Brent Anderson AND Kurt Busiek in one week and we only get one comment? Who bigger do we need to get to get some more feedback?

To be fair Ted commented over on the Dollar Bin Facebook Group Page:

OK, so let me rephrase: I am really surprised people, we posted both Brent Anderson AND Kurt Busiek in one week and we only get TWO comments? Who bigger do we need to get to get some more feedback?

Oh, and to address Ted: Kurt Busiek was indeed completely awesome. Helluva nice guy for being so high in the comic creator pecking order.

To be fair I'll also point out that comments were turned off for the Kurt Busiek interview for a few days or I would have posted sooner.

I'd been waiting for quite a while for these two. I think Joel told me about the snafu almost a year ago. Needless to say they both were worth the wait. Astro City continues to be my favorite book, and that Samaritan one shot is still my favorite single issue ever, and probably had more to do with me returning to comics reading than anything else.

It was great to hear you guys geek out after the interviews too. Now I just want to know when I'm getting more Astro City!
