Great podcast as always. I have tried to read the Titan many times and have never found them interesting. I wonder who would be the best writer/artist to bring some life into the series. I have no suggestions, does anyone?
Well as fore mentioned I'm hoping on McKeever for this one. I've had little to 0 interest in TT until recently, so I better not be let down. Stay tuned for next weeks release of the interview with the guy who is and will be writing TT in the future along with a few other books I've previously had not a care in the world for.
This was a great show. I have collected the Titans in all of their forms for a long time. I even just bought the Showcase Titans book with all of the old stuff. I really don't know why I keep buying all of these books but I seem to keep getting suckered into thinking this is going to be the "run that brings them back to their old greatness." Instead what I have gotten is Marv Wolfman getting tired and phoning in probably the last third of his run, a team of alien/human hibrids that are all crazy or dead now, a team from the future that pretty much disappeared except for a couple that I think are dead now, a Deathstroke that somehow ended up being a cross between Captain America and Batman and not the b.a. he was intended to be, and a book with the original team acting as mentors to some new generation which really only ended up ticking me off because all they ever did was either sleep around or gripe about who they are or are not able to sleep with. The worse part of that whole run though was turning Liberty Belle into a gullible old biddy who became some idiot's sugarmomma while Jesse Quick ended up being "unable to control herself" and sleeping with the same idiot while he was with her mom. I have to say that I have enjoyed Johns run on the characters and I am one of the few people who actually enjoyed the Titans East story. (I thought Deathstroke came across as noble rather than a wus as most people seem to). I am looking forward to McKeever's run and I think Bedard would probably be good on the book too. Either way, I will probably get suckered into buying it hoping that it will be great again unless they do something stupid like bringing back Grayson or letting Chuck Austen have a go at it.
Looking forward to the next show.
