Like all the great entertainment programs of our time, we get tons of viewer questions. At least that is what Adam told Tre and Brian this week as we leap into the imaginary mail bag for "The Fan Boy Questions"!!! Come along for the geeky ride on this edition of the Dollar Bin.

Oh damn. I have never laughed so much during a podcast. With that being said that section about who you'd like to bang left me feeling really dirty. I cannot believe that Black Adam (?) and Terra both got mentioned before Betty and Veronica. C'mon, who wasn't 9 or 10 reading Archie comics and wanted to have to choose between the two of them (or maybe not make a choice at all?)?
I agree with whoever wanted to have Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby all have dinner together. I would give them all giant boxing gloves after dinner and let Stan get his ass whupped for being such a media whore and taking all the credit.
I'd never been much of an Archie reader. I think I tried it once or twice, but I didn't like it. I thought it was bland. I quickly moved onto harder more mind enhancing stuff.
I think Veronica's hotter than Betty. Just sayin' ...
Nah, Betty is WAY hotter.
Betty wins in a personality contest but Veronica is hotter.
Don't you guys watch Saturday Morning Cartoons?? The current Legion of Superheroes cartoon on Kids WB (CW) has Matter-Eater Lad and Bouncing Boy. It's not just for us old folks!!
BTW - did you all watch the Jimmy-Palmiotti-created Painkiller Jane on Sci Fi? The 2nd to the last show had a character that could phase through walls. I thought Adam might be interested...
I keep seeing commercial for Painkikker Jane, but have yet to watch it. Should I?
It depends on what you like, I guess - I wasn't blown away enough by it to recommend it blindly to anyone. I loved the Sci Fi movie that they had a couple years ago - I thought that was pure gold. But the series isn't quite as good. The basis is that there's this team that hunts "neuros" - they're basically people that have a neurological deviation that gives them abilities - phasing through walls, making people see things that aren't there - just about anything that could be a super power. Anyway, the premise is that anyone who has these abilities goes antisocial at some point and abuses the power, so there's this black ops team that goes after them and captures them. Of course, Jane heals from just about any injury, but still feels the pain (thus the name) - but I don't think they played the latter up as well as they do in the comic (from what I read).
It's interesting enough in a superhero-related way, and I was sucked in enough to the first few to stick with it and watch the entire season (which just got over), but mostly because the premise was comic-related. I don't think it stuck to the comics, though I'm not familiar with them...I heard rumors that the show's been cancelled after the first season, but don't know how true that is. The last ep left it open for there to be another season.
Worst/lamest power ever? Check out Showcase Legion of Superheroes. About half way through the volume is the intro of the Legion of Substitute Heroes featuring Stone Boy. His power is to turn himself into a stone statue. That's it. Some of those early stories were just classic just because of the characters that would show up in almost every issue to join the Legion only to be shown the door because the power was determined to be not worthy for whatever reason. Running a close second to Stone Boy has to be Chlorophyl Lad with the power to make plants grow really fast. I guess the power may not be that bad but seriously... Chlorophyl Lad?
Long live the Legion!
That's awesome! Because, the cartoon actually has an episode of The Legion of Substitute Heroes. It stars Stone Boy, Chlorophyl Lad, and a few others with lame powers!
