SPX 2007 Recap
Monday, October 22, 2007
Its no secret (or is it) that Adam attended the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD. While there he met some great people, learned of some great books, fell in love, and forcibly had 15 Wide Awake 666 contributors sign and sketch in his copy. In other words it was more fun than licking electric outlets. Listen as he explains himself to his peers in this edition of the Dollar Bin.

Wow, I am first. The small press expo sounded like a blast. There is one in San Francisco that I keep meaning to go to but I always find a reason to stay away. Sounds like I need to add another con to my schedule. I am really starting to get more into the indie stuff. Can anyone recommend some trades of some good indie stuff to pick up?
Also, on a completely unrelated note, my company is making some props for the Greenville, South Carolina Christmas parade this year. You see someone inside a clear bubble that is us so hello from Bakersfield, CA.
It was a blast. The SF expo is APE. I'd really like to go to that one year. I just need a place to crash. The more exposed I am to Indy stuff the more I like it. I guess it just comes down to giving it enough of a chance to filter out the crap and find the good. As far as good Indy trades goes Blankets is a must. Also, anything Brian Wood, Mike Carey, and Rick Spears is a good start if you ask me. If you are into the less ordinary you can always give Dan Clowes a shot. I really like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron. I think that is a good start and then from there I have a few more I could definitely recommend. Maybe I'll go to the Christmas parade this year. I've never been before, but I almost have a reason now.
