The Dark Knight Trailer
The anticipation for the biggest movie of 2008 began with the turning of a playing card as 2005’s Batman Begins drew to a close. With that in mind, on December 14th anyone who bought a ticket to I Am Legend was given an early Christmas gift; the first full trailer to the next installment of the big screen rebirth of Batman The Dark Knight.
“It’s all part of the plan…”
Even though fans have had to wait so long for their first real glimpses of the sights, sounds and feel of The Dark Knight, they have not been without teases and treats along the way. Ever since the San Diego Comic Con, fans have been given the opportunity to hunt information, play games and take a peek into the world of Gotham City and into the mind of the Joker. What started off as one site mocking Harvey Dent, shifted to another and then another until you needed a website to keep track of them all. Some gave glimpses of what has taken place in fair Gotham in the time between the two films. But the real fun came from other sites and from the man with the permanent smile who seemed to be looking to add to his gang.
“See to them… you’re just a freak…like me.”
Joker (Heath Ledger) From the Dark KnightIt started at WhySoSerious.com in July and it is still ongoing. Fans have been given the opportunity to play along, both online and in person, for a shot at a place in the Joker’s crew. Or to be more exact, for information and sometimes merchandise connected to the film. Along the way the riddles and rewards have only increased the desire for more. And with each revealing of yet another look at the film and its characters the desire for more continues to grow. This has been online guerrilla marketing at its best and I think fans are hoping it won’t stop until that magical date of July 18th, 2008.
“Let’s put a smile on that face!”

Heath Ledger has passed away due to an over dose. Condolences to his family and friends.
This is so fucking sad... I'd have more to say, but I need a drink.
Crazy....
I really thought my chain was being yanked when people at work started asking me if I knew. Just 28 years old and seemingly on top of the world.
It's insane. I feel different about the movie today. I'm not sure exactly how I feel except that I'm not looking forward to it as much right now.
No word yet how Ledger's death may change the marketing of the film but for the moment the main websites are directing towards a memorial page or have black ribbons on them.

Maggie Gyllenhaal belives in Harvey Dent but that doesn't make here better looking than Katie Holmes.
