Thanks for the spirited conversation.
Not being familiar with the JSA I appreciated the short run down on their history, I liked their recent #1 issue.
Also being a Marvel fan I appreciated Flaco's history (dude, you can name drop artists and writers!) on Quesada. Love him or hate him, you have to admit Quesada gets Mavels name out there in pop culture.
In regards to comic movies bringing people into comics, I'm a living testimony. I collected comics as a kid but dropped out in middle school (I didn't drop out of middle school, just reading comics). : )
When the movies started hitting the big screen I wanted to find out what was really going on with the characters, and BAM! they hooked me. Now I have a $15 to $25 weekly habit.
Well, Tre bumped an old show last weekend so I thought I'd bump one this weekend.
With all the anti-Quesada talk on our site as it pertains to his Spidey decisions, I thought some of our newer visitors might enjoy taking a listen to how we felt about him more than a year ago.
Not to mention how different the show is and sounds in comparison.
It was an enlightening show. Juxtapose this episode with any OMD episode and it's quite jarring.
But I did enjoy being reminded of all the things that Joe Q has done right. It's easy to forget that he almost single-handedly turned Marvel's comics division around. (I had a whole long piece written comparing this to a romantic relationship, but I've decided it was just too gay to allow out of head.)
Thanks as always for a great show.
