Event: DC 52 Relaunch Party at Borderlands

Rob Young - Owner of BorderlandsJust mere minutes ago the Dollar Bin was at Borderlands Comcis and Games to capture the midnight gathering of DC fans young and old.  While there Adam and Shawn grabbed interviews with the people, including members of the Upstate Comics Book Club, to get some insight into what this event really means.  Also, they picked up Justice League #1 and Flashpoint #5

Finally, kicking off a new Dollar Bin segment, Brian, Shaka, Shawn, and Adam list the Dollar Bin Top 5 books they predict to get cancelled first.

I'm cracking up while listening to this. Loving the folks that say they love Flashpoint, but can't explain a single thing about it.

Also, it's not every day that you meet someone that quotes Smallville. Wow.

Enjoyed the show. The only book I'm looking forward to is Swamp Thing. I'm a huge fan of both the Wein/Wriightson and Moore/Bissette runs and Swamp Thing is one of my favorite characters. Although I prefer him more in the Vertigo books.

Great show. Definitely funny. Top five books that will get canceled are: iVampire, Captain Atom, Blackhawks, Suicide Squad, Hawk and Dove.

The more I think about it the more I see Batwing as not making it too long as a solo book.

First five to be cut?

Stormwatch, Grifter, Bat Wing, Mr. Terrific and possibly the war comic.

Of course, the comic gods may frown upon All-Star Western after such a more-than-expected-run on Jonah Hex.

The Hype Machine is working. Looks like all these titles are selling out quick. Hawk and Dove sold out and a 2nd printing is on the way. On the bright side, Kevin Smith isnt writing anything in the new 52.

I just read on Bleeding Cool that the lead character in Voodoo is a stripper and that most of the 1st issue takes place with her 1/2 naked and in a strip club.

I'm pretty sure with that type of storytelling that title will have enough sales to keep going much longer than I previously thought.

If she's half naked then does that mean she is topless, because we all know she has to be wearing pants, right?
