Shawn, how did you know how I sounded when you mentioned Jim Shooter? Not only did I make that sound I also jumped up and down like a middle school girl.
It was an educated guess. Also, when I did the impression I was flapping my arms up and down, but you couldn't see me. Not quite jumping up and down but close enough though.
Baltimore was a great show.
Shawn, your description of the DC panel makes me so happy that I skipped it. I attended 5 panels, 4 of which were creator spotlight spotlights (Terry Moore, Dennis Kitchen, Mike Allred, Sergio Aragones), all of which were fun and informative. The other panel was the 1980s panel which was a bit overloaded with 7 panelists (Mark Waid, Tim Truman, Matt Wagner, Marv Wolfman, Walt & Louise Simonson, John Workman) for just one hour.
Adam, your description of the art auction makes me wish that I had attended that. I'll have to make a point of doing so next year.
I bought a few comics and hung out in the indie publisher/artists alley section more than I did the retailers or near the booths for the big publishers. I got 4 sketches. My favorite (and ironically least expensive) is the sketch card of General Immortus that Dave Wachter drew for me.
I'll definitely be going back next year.
Kudos for another fun show guys! I liked how the interviews were intertwined within the show. And the laid back banter between Shawn and Adam was a great way to take in the Baltimore Con from afar. And getting Shooter for even that little bit of time was a huge get!
If you guys can get Sergio for Heroes Con I will be INCREDIBLY happy! Been a huge fan of his for years...all the way back to Mad magazine and that old Dick Clark bloopers show. Not to mention Groo is one of the best comics of any genre!
$25 for a full Dave Johnson sketch made me a little sick. And I hate to think how little you paid for that Emma Frost! And an Ottley page to boot...jeez!
Sergio is incredibly awesome to talk to. I wish I had had recording equipment at the Bakersfield show last year when he was here. Shawn is right though, he is a very flirtacious Italian man who LOVES the ladies.
